As a recent retiree one of my favorite aspects of this stage in my life is diving down a rabbit hole to learn/investigate a subject. Yesterday it was bond ladders; the day prior it was identifying Oscar nominated movies I had missed viewing when they were released (now I have a list to carry in my wallet to leverage on my library visits). These “mental adventures” - along with a handful of planned activities - make each day interesting and fulfilling.

I’m still a year plus a few months from retirement. I’ve actually put together a “typical week” of activities. Posted the schedule on my wall for review. Provides some structure. And reveals I won’t be bored! Of course, I am quite adept at “doing nothing” and just relaxing, too. So, a day of “nothing” won’t cause any angst for me. I do have some health and fitness goals I want to start in retirement and that will keep me occupied.

Good video. I, too, have a similar pattern. Get up, take an hour, and walk with the dog. Do yoga, have breakfast, and read. This my time is very special to me. After that, I am planning a late lunch, we eat a big mid day meal, taking my wife to Dr. appointments, study some portuguese, shop at the local market, etc. Having control over my time is precious. Retired 6 years (retired at 57). I can't say I've ever been bored

Joe, The avg. American is having a tough time, I know I am not alone. There are others in same position as me. By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. How can I best grow the 100k I have saved seperately outside retirement access which of course had depleted over the years?

There are many other interesting stocks in many industries that you might follow. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.

When it comes to investment, diversification is key. That is why I have my interests set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. They range from the EV sector, renewable energy, Tech and Health (AMD) alongside coins, and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan with my Fin. It's recommended to save at least 15% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 15% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.

Given the persisting global economic crisis, it's essential for individuals to focus on diversifying their income streams independent of governmental reliance. This involves exploring options such as stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the adversity in the economy, now is an opportune moment to contemplate these investment avenues.

The pathway to substantial returns doesn't solely rely on stocks with significant movements. Instead, it revolves around effectively managing risk relative to reward. By appropriately sizing your positions and capitalizing on your advantage repeatedly, you can progressively work towards achieving your financial goals. This principle applies across various investment approaches, whether it be long-term investing or day trading.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

I retired at age 47, which was ten years ago. I distinctly remember spending my first month doing tow things: (a) running all the financial calculators online to see if I was going to run out of money, and (b) astonished that everyone else --delivery man, postal worker, water meter reader, grocery store clerk, etc--is still working so I'm a non-contributing member of society.

I watch your channel, and 3 or 4 other channels about retirement and finances. But the New Retirement / Boldin program is what REALLY put my mind at ease about retiring when we did....

So you can move to refill at any time like in the middle of a good month?

I decided to retire in Oct 2022 and actually retired at the end of Dec 2022, the day I turned 60. Oct '22 was the lowest my retirement account had been in a couple of years, it had recovered slightly by the end of 2022. So my retirement plans were shaken, but not destroyed, now nearly 62 and have been retired for almost 2 years, our retirement balances are up about 30% since retiring. I am sure a 30-40% down market will mentally affect me, but I know it would only take me back to about where I was when I decided to retire, giving some peace of mind that I was OK then and will be OK in a future downturn. So I hope I am post the point of questioning my retirement decision. My advice: once you hit your number pull the lever and get out of the rat race.

I may be guilty of trying to reverse-engineer bucket 3...:) On the surface, having "80%" after accounting for 10 years of expenses seems really conservative (even accounting for the SS income) - but maybe I'm misunderstanding your 80-20 allocation? None of my business, of course, other than trying to compare my tentative plan with your active one.

Been a prolific saver in top .1% and retiring at 56. I’m 30 day away from leaving and totally terrified. I follow the bucket rule and keep 5 years liquidity handy if the market corrects.

six months away from retirement, will be 62, have a certified financial planner, plan at 95%, and feel confident in it. I am commission sales and beginning to have FOMO on the next deal, walking away from good $..trying to be disciplined on my set date but tough some days.

So you have 10 years of expenses in cash and you will start to draw your SS in 10 years. Your SS and your pension will be enough to cover your expenses…I like your odds of success! I can see why you moved so much into cash.

Good video , no pension but I planned to spend most of it before the last day. No going crazy but enjoying life . Plan is working good but change is sometime we need review a few time a year. But spend it and enjoy life. Good financial planner and we review 2 to 3 time a year and adjust accordingly .

I am not a fan of the new "Boldin" name. It has been much easier to tell people "New Retirement, look it up!!".

New Retirement missed an opportunity changing its name to Boldin, Joe. they should have spelled it with an "e" instead. after all, they're emboldening their users to retire with courage and confidence. remember, you read it here first. my idea. 💡😂

You’re a good guy Joe and you’re sharp, however, your ego has the better of you on this video. There are so many intricate things you’re wrong about on this video. You’re not an economist my friend. Stay in your zone; you said a lot of things here that just aren’t completely accurate
